ED, Global Head of Model Risk Governance

Global Bank, London, Full Time, Hybrid Working

Responsible for oversight and execution of Model Governance responsibilities, reporting into Global Head of Model Risk Management.  Leads a team of 10, will help steer through change to Model Risk Management framework in line with supervisory expectations across multiple global regulators

The role

  • Review and challenge policies, procedures and process documents as well as maintain and evolve existing governance documents to meet regulatory and internal requirements
  • Sponsor a large remediation programme focussing on enhancements to the Model Risk Management framework
  • Oversee Model Risk Management’s Risk and Control Self Assessments, engage with Internal and External Audit
  • Oversee development and delivery of firm-wide Model Risk training and education programme
  • Attend key Governance Committees and Forums, respond to and engage with regulators
  • Oversee process and approach to model identification and inventory management

Requires

  • Someone strategic and highly structured, capable of influencing stakeholders who can be a strong agent for change.
  • Detail oriented and experienced in change management and transformation
  • Strong knowledge of Model Risk Management governance standards and model validation experience.
  • Experience in regulatory and internal audit interaction, exam management/coordination and issue management/resolution
  • Experience leading large teams
  • Knowledge of best practice for policy and procedure management and design
