HR Business Partner (12-15 month maternity cover), Global Bank

Reporting to the Head of HR London

 

The role

  1. Business Partnering – advise in Talent Management, Employee Relations, Recruitment, Compensation and other HR matters.  Liaise with internal departments, update management, assist in ad-hoc projects, build morale, increase productivity and retention,
  2. Headcount and Recruitment – assist the Talent Acquisition Partner with processing approvals for permanent recruitment, interview candidates, produce compensation benchmarks, sign off contracts, advise external hires on onboarding, track headcount and budgeting information to send to Finance team monthly
  3. Employee Relations – advise on performance and talent management, departures and grievances, end to end management of employee relations matters, respond to queries and cases without creating legal or operational risk
  4. Learning and Development – understanding employee training needs and implement programmes as necessary, assist with designing and rolling out L&D programmes
  5. Organisation and Policies – develop, implement and review HR policies and procedures, ensure clear reporting lines and employee job descriptions
  6. Performance and Talent Management – compete annual Talent Review process and help develop action plans for high potential employees, facilitate and provide training on performance management processes
  7. Compensation and Benefits – participate in salary and benefits benchmarking surveys, work on employee reward matters, take minutes of Remuneration Committees
  8. Compliance – take HR lead on annual re-certification process under SMCR, work with central compliance
  9. General HR – ensure Payroll Lead has accurate payroll information each month, assist with administrative queries and tasks in the absence of HR administrators

Requires

  1. HR Business Partner experience – ideally gained working in broad roles in small teams
  2. Up to date working knowledge and application of UK employment law
  3. Strong communication skills, collaborative team player, ability to quickly establish a high level of credibility, ability to multi-task and delegate appropriately.
  4. IT literacy – strong Excel skills essential
  5. Previous experience in Financial Services (ideally investment banking) preferred along with a professional HR qualification – CIPD or similar.
