Our client is seeking an experienced IT Services Director to be part of their purpose-driven organisation that makes a real difference, leading a high-impact IT team in a business-critical function.
You will have proven leadership experience in IT Services within a regulated, business-critical environment and a strong track record in IT service transformation, cloud services, supplier management, and financial control.
Technology is at the heart of their business success, and the IT & Change function ensures that their systems, equipment, and digital transformation initiatives provide the best possible experience for both colleagues and customers. With a team of approximately 200 dedicated professionals, the function delivers cutting-edge solutions, rapid response support, and a secure IT environment to keep the business thriving.
This role reports to the CIO, leads a team of around 45 IT professionals and oversees critical functions, including:
- End User Experience (Service Desk, Desktop Services, Audio Visual & Unified Comms)
- Infrastructure (Network, Database Administration, Cloud & On-Prem Infrastructure)
- IT Service Management (Incident, Change, Problem, Release, Service Introduction)
- Asset & Licensing Management & Cloud FinOps
- Infrastructure & Service Change Delivery
You will ensure the stability, security, and resilience of IT services, aligning them with business objectives while maintaining compliance, cost efficiency, and continuous service improvement. This role requires strategic oversight, supplier management, financial control, and the ability to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 45 IT professionals.
- Act as the face of IT Services, engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting to the Leadership and Executive teams.
- Oversee supplier relationships and ensure service delivery meets KPIs and business needs.
- Drive the IT Service and Infrastructure strategy, aligning with cloud adoption and digital transformation goals.
- Manage a functional budget of circa £10m, ensuring cost control and value for money.
- Govern infrastructure refresh and upgrade programmes.
- Lead Major Incident Management (including Disaster Recovery) and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Ensure hardware and software asset management and license compliance.
- Produce Executive, Trustee, and Board-level reports and presentations when required.
